An excited middle school team passionate about STEM and learning about the atmosphere, the Page Panther Space Program won the 2nd place prize for best photograph. We just loved how they were able to frame their unique payload structure with the exposed go pros and lego men against the back drop of the Earth on their descent. Well done guys!
From the team: "The Page Panthers Space Program is a club comprised of middle school students. This was an after school club that met once a week to learn about our atmosphere. We also wanted to capture video and photographs of the balloons journey. Although the students learned multiple things through this experience, a couple of things surprised them. First, how wind currents changed as the balloon gained altitude. Second, how the temperature varied as the payload gained altitude. Most of all they learned how to work as a team, and capture memories that will last a lifetime."
