A collaboration between the MIT chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers and local Boston Latin School students, the Engineering Immersion Program team flew a balloon for the GSBC to culminate 6 months of STEM activities across numerous different aerospace topics. Incredible to see a team do so many activities and accomplish so much and we're ecstatic to award them the 3rd place prize for the most educational initiative.

From the team: "The Engineering Immersion Program is a team of MIT students and Boston Latin School high school students that have been working together throughout the entire academic year. Through this program the high school students got a taste of STEM and put there new found talents to the test through the Global Space Balloon Challenge. After launching the balloons as a team and finally retrieving them, it can be safe to say that this program has made a positive impact on the students by raising confidence levels, instilling the engineering discipline, and encouraging an career path in STEM."
