I just finished up my 3rd balloon launch and it was very successful. Will post video soon. Anyway, I am doing these balloon launches with the local Boy Scout Troop and I would like to get a few variations so we're not just doing the same old thing every year... Please see list of options and associated questions below:
Super High Altitude - 150,000 feet. How is this done? I have used the burst calculator and the lightest payload imaginable and can only get about 120,000 feet with the largest balloons out there. I have seen several pictures from 150,000 feet, but no idea how to get that kind of altitude.
Neutrally Buoyant Balloon - would like to have a balloon airborne for several days, or as long as possible. Would like to track it during the entire flight. If it goes over the ocean, assuming that there are no digipeaters for APRS to work. Are there any other tracking options? Any means to trigger a cut away mechanism remotely???
