Proud to partner the idea & the people of GSBC, all the way from South Africa!
The Foundation for Space Development, South Africa, is a registered non-profit organization established in 2009 to promote Space Awareness, Education & Outreach.
We see the Global Space Balloon Challenge as a phenomenal opportunity to bring Space to the classrooms of South Africa in a low cost & very high participation manner. It is for this reason that we will be throwing our full weight behind the 2015 Challenge to create a platform for participation from University, Club & Society levels all the way down to rural primary schools.
We are very proud to be aboard!
The Foundation's highest profile (collaborative) program is the Africa2Moon Mission.
Africa has many Space Application Mission programs under its belt but Africa2Moon is its first Space Exploration Mission!
The mission program team has also partnered with GSBC and sees the challenge as an opportunity for pre-cursor, public participation, events.
On behalf of both the Foundation and Africa2Moon we are very excited about the partnership and being a cog in the wheel to promote this great event regionally and to provide support to participants wherever and whenever we can.
Wishing everyone a joyous festive season & an astronomical 2015,
Jonathan Weltman
CEO of the Foundation for Space Development, South Africa
Project Administrator of the Africa2Moon Mission Program
