First Place: IRBE-3
We are IRBE-3 team. Our team consists of students from Ventspils University College - Kaspars Prusis, Gints Dreifogels, Atvars Nikolajevs, Mikus Freimanis, Peteris Pitans. As participation in GSBC is like a tradition for students in Ventspils University College, we decided that it is our turn to take a part in the competition. In addition, the goal of IRBE-3 team is to raise interest of young generation in near space missions and to improve their skills in developing electronical systems. As we are all passionate electronical engineering students, creation of electronical systems used in payload is a great challenge and it was carried out with enthusiasm and everything was built from scratch. As the designed frame of IRBE-3 payload appeared to be very successful it will serve as a base for next IRBE missions (with few small improvements that were acknowledged during the construction of this frame) and will save time on frame design that will let us to fully focus on the experiment.

Second place: SEDS TnTech
The Students for the Exploration and Development of Space at Tennessee Tech (SEDS TnTech) is
a chapter of an international, student-run organization that promotes student involvement in space
exploration. We participate in rocketry competitions, engage in political advocacy in support of NASA
and the space industry, outreach to local students, and – of course – launch high-altitude balloons! This
is our 7 th high-altitude balloon launch and the second time we have submitted an entry into the global
space balloon challenge. As students at Tennessee Technological University, we were directly in the path
of totality during the August 2017 Eclipse and were thrilled to be able to launch a payload directly in the

Third Place: PWr Aerospace
PWr Aerospace is a group of students from Wroclaw University of Science and Technology. Although specialized in various subjects, like mechanics, IT, electronics or physics, the whole team is devoted to one goal - reaching the sky. After second successfully launched mission we proved to be really capable young engineers. We are trying to find new possibilites in the field of aerospace by bringing in new solutions and improving current ones. Now focused on building our own rocket and launching next balloon missions we are starting more demanding projects.
